My Son Ordered Me To Kneel Before His Gold Digger Wife — So I Exposed Her Secret Instead

Part 1
“Apologize or get out of my house,” my son screamed, his voice shattering the strained silence of the dining room.
I stared at him, my hand hovering over the offending salt shaker I had just passed to his wife, Megan.
Megan dabbed at her perfectly dry eyes with a linen napkin.
“Your mother constantly disrespects me, Tyler,” she sniffled, burying her face in his shoulder.
He wrapped his arms around her, glaring at me as if I were a trespasser who had broken into his immaculate, half-million-dollar home.
The $8,000 diamond necklace resting against Megan’s collarbone caught the light of the crystal chandelier.
I gripped the edge of the mahogany table, remembering the years I spent scrubbing office floors so Tyler could have a warm coat.
“Mom, you need to go,” he said, his tone as cold as winter wind.
My legs trembled as I stood up and reached for my worn purse on the back of the chair.
I opened my mouth, searching for a way to defend myself against a crime I hadn’t committed.
Tyler raised his hand, cutting me off before I could speak a single word.
“I need you to come next Saturday and apologize to her in front of all our guests,” he demanded, standing tall and immovable.
Megan peeked out from behind his shoulder, a tiny, victorious smirk playing on her lips.
I nodded slowly, letting them think they had won this round.
“It’s fine, Tyler,” I whispered, keeping my gaze firmly on the polished wood floor.
I turned my back on the son I had raised alone and walked out into the freezing night air.
The walk to the bus stop was a blur of streetlights and bitter memories of how much I had sacrificed for him.
I remembered the day Tyler brought Megan to my small apartment, her designer shoes tapping impatiently against my cheap linoleum.
She had looked around my living room as if inspecting a dump, offering only monosyllabic answers while Tyler looked at her with pure adoration.
After they got married in a lavish thirty-thousand-dollar ceremony, the distance between us grew rapidly.
Sunday dinners were replaced with excuses about work and Megan’s wealthy family events.
When I visited, Megan would constantly correct me, point out my outdated clothes, and replace all photos of me with pictures of her and Tyler.
Tyler just stood by, chuckling at her remarks and allowing her to erase me from his life piece by piece.
But everything changed the following Tuesday when I went to cash my small pension check downtown.
I saw Megan exiting an upscale coffee shop, huddling close to a strange man in a tailored suit.
I ducked behind a concrete pillar, watching as she nervously handed him a thick envelope and took a manila folder in return.
My heart hammered against my ribs as she glanced around frantically before disappearing into the crowd.
I knew in my gut that the woman parading her wealth at my son’s expense was hiding something massive.
I emptied my entire emergency savings of one thousand dollars and handed it to Craig, a private investigator recommended by my friend Heather.
Craig called me two weeks later, his voice heavy with urgency as he asked me to meet him immediately.
He slid a massive file across a diner table, spilling bank statements and signed contracts into the fluorescent light.
Megan had convinced Tyler to pour all of his hard-earned savings into investments she secretly put solely in her name.
“If they divorce tomorrow, he doesn’t see a single cent back,” Craig stated flatly, pointing to the fine print.
He then pulled out printed text messages between Megan and her mother, detailing a calculated plot to drain my son’s accounts while keeping him isolated from me.
Megan’s family was completely bankrupt, living off massive loans and using Tyler’s money to maintain their facade of extreme wealth.
I sat in my dark living room that night, staring at the box of evidence that could destroy my son’s world.
I knew that if I simply handed him the papers, Megan would twist the truth and claim I was trying to ruin their marriage.
So I waited until Saturday arrived, dressing in my best clothes and placing the folder carefully inside my oversized handbag.
I walked up to their grand front door, listening to the clinking glasses and laughter of their wealthy friends inside.
