Billionaire Installed a Camera to Watch Her Son — What the Single Dad Employee Did Shocked Her

Unlikely Bonds and Lessons in Kindness

So when she decided to bring Lucas to the office for a week while his nanny was out of town she secretly installed a small camera inside his temporary playroom. She wanted to keep an eye on him while she worked.

The first day was chaos employees whispered surprised to see the CEO’s child in the building. Lucas sat alone in the playroom clutching a tiny action figure refusing to speak to anyone until Ethan walked in.

He had been called to fix a ceiling vent. He didn’t even notice the camera in the corner.

When he stepped inside and saw the little boy sitting silently he paused and smiled gently. “Hey buddy,” he said softly.

“Mind if I fix something up there?” Lucas didn’t answer.

He just watched him with wide uncertain eyes. Ethan climbed the ladder made the repair and on his way out he noticed Lucas’s untied shoelaces.

He stopped crouched down and asked “Can I help with that?” Still no words just a small nod.

He tied the shoes with the same tenderness he used for his own son. Victoria watched all of this from her office monitor eyebrows raised.

She had expected her son to cry maybe hide. She had expected chaos.

She did not expect a maintenance employee kneeling on the floor tying her son’s shoes like he’d known him forever. The next day something remarkable happened.

Lucas waited for Ethan. Every morning like clockwork Ethan passed by the playroom on his repairs route.

And every morning Lucas looked up with a shy smile. Ethan began spending a few minutes with him showing him how to fix a loose screw letting him hold a flashlight telling silly dad jokes that made the boy giggle.

Victoria found herself watching the camera footage more than her spreadsheets. She saw things she didn’t expect moments no report or financial chart could ever teach her.

One afternoon she watched Lucas spill his juice accidentally. The boy’s face crumpled terrified of getting in trouble.

Before he could cry Ethan rushed in with paper towels dropping to his knees. “It’s okay,” he said warmly.

“Accidents happen Let’s clean it together.” Lucas nodded relieved.
