Daddy, Please Help Her…” The Single Dad Took Down 2 Men Next Day, the CEO Came Looking for Him

The Aftermath and the Call

It was over quickly. Arv caught the wrist, twisted, and used the man’s own momentum to send him into the wall.

The second man lunged, cursing. Arv ducked, felt the rush of air over his shoulder, then drove his elbow back, hard and precise.

The sound that followed was a mix of surprise and pain. Both men stumbled, shock breaking their bravado.

“Now,” RF said, his voice low. “Go.” They did, slipping and swearing as they ran out into the rain.

For a moment, there was only the woman’s breathing and the distant hiss of traffic. Arv turned to her, keeping his hands visible, his posture open.

“You’re safe,” he said. “Can you stand?” She nodded, tears streaking her face, and took his hand.

He helped her up, steadying her until her legs stopped shaking. Meera appeared at his side, eyes still wide but shining now.

“Thank you,” the woman whispered. “I… I don’t know what would have—”

“You’re okay,” Arv said. “That’s what matters.” He walked them both to the main road and flagged down a passing rickshaw.

When the woman was gone, wrapped in borrowed calm and moving toward wherever she needed to be, RF let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. Meera slipped her hand back into his.

“Daddy,” she said softly. “You were brave.” Arv smiled, though his hands were trembling now that it was over.

“We were lucky,” he said. “Come on, school.” The next day began like any other.

Arv packed lunches, tied shoelaces, and kissed Meera’s forehead at the gate. He went to work at the warehouse, stacking boxes and counting hours, the rain replaced by a pale, hesitant sun.

By afternoon, the story had already faded into something like a dream. Then his phone rang.

The voice on the other end was polite, controlled. “Mr. RF Verma? My name is Rohan Malhotra. I’d like to speak with you about an incident that occurred yesterday morning.”

Arv’s stomach dropped. He pictured uniforms, reports, explanations he wasn’t sure he could afford.

“If this is about…” “It is,” the man said. “Please don’t worry. I’d prefer to meet you in person.”
