Kind Waitress Helping Orphan Kids — Unaware the Undercover CEO Was Secretly Watching
The CEO’s Letter and a New Beginning
He wrote a personal letter to his board of directors. Two days later a black limousine pulled up in front of Rosy’s diner.
Out stepped Andrew, not in janitor clothes but in a crisp tailored suit. Rosie dropped her tray.
Emily stared mouth agape, apron in hand. Andrew approached her slowly.
“i’ve been watching you Emily and not in a creepy way,” he added with a chuckle, “in a way that changed my life.”
He handed her an envelope. Inside was a letter on Callahan Corpse stationary and a check.
The letter read, “Dear Emily in recognition of your unwavering kindness compassion and selflessness Callahan Corp is proud to offer you a full scholarship to pursue any education you desire.”
It continued to offer a job at our foundation helping underprivileged children and a home, not temporary shelter but a real home that was yours.
“thank you for reminding me what humanity looks like. Andrew Callahan CEO”
Emily’s legs gave out and Andrew caught her just in time. The diner was silent.
Rosie wept openly. The orphan kids were back that day too and when they saw Emily cry they rushed over to hug her legs.
She held them tightly. “we’re all going to be okay now”
And they were because from that day forward Emily ran her own shelter and cafe where anyone who was hungry got fed, no questions asked. And Andrew, he visited every week.
Sometimes he came in suits, sometimes in jeans, but always with the same heart Emily had inspired in him.
Because sometimes the richest people are the ones who give even when they have nothing left. And sometimes the ones mopping the floor are just waiting to change your life.
