“Marry Me — Just 5 Minutes!” — The Cold CEO Dragged a Single Dad Into the Registry Office

Five Minutes in the Registry Office

Clare’s grandfather, the man who built the company, was dying. His final condition was simple and cruel. He wanted to see Clare married before he passed, believing love would soften her hardened heart.

Without it, his controlling shares would be donated away, stripping Clare of everything she’d built. She had a fiance once, but he walked out 3 days ago.

Now she had hours, not days. Hours. Her assistant had failed her and every plan collapsed.

Panic clawed at her chest as she stepped outside. And then she saw Ethan. Not powerful, not rich, just kind eyes, a tired face, and a little girl holding his hand.

Without thinking, Clare walked straight up to him and said “I need your help”. Ethan blinked. “i’m sorry”.

“marry me,” she said, “just 5 minutes i’ll pay you”. Ethan instinctively pulled Lily closer. “lady I don’t know what you think this is but please”.

Clare interrupted, her voice cracking for the first time. “i don’t need a real marriage just a signature”. “5 minutes you’ll never see me again”.

Lily looked up at her father. “daddy she looked sad”. That was it.

Ethan hesitated. His instincts screamed “No” but kindness whispered “yes”. He saw fear behind Clare’s sharp exterior, real fear, human fear.

He took a deep breath. “5 minutes” he said quietly. “that’s all”.

Inside the registry office the clerk barely looked up. Paperwork was rushed, names were signed, and witnesses nodded. Clare’s hands trembled as she slipped a simple ring onto Ethan’s finger.

5 minutes later it was done. Clare exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for years. “thank you,” she said coldly, already reaching into her bag.

Ethan stopped her. “keep your money”. She froze.

“why?”. “Because,” he said glancing at Lily, “sometimes people just need help”.
