My Boss Is A Terrifying Mafia Don \u2014 But He Just Fired His Supermodel Girlfriend Because Of Me

Part 2

Morning light filtered through the thick velvet curtains of the Russo estate the next day.

The chaotic mess from the previous night had been scrubbed away entirely by Dan’s private cleanup crew.

Nobody outside these heavily guarded walls would ever know a lethal assassin had been subdued by spilled dairy and my spectacular clumsiness.

Dan sat quietly at the head of the massive mahogany dining table.

He slowly sipped his black espresso while keeping his calculating eyes fixed firmly on the swinging kitchen doors.

I stumbled into the dining room carrying a massive silver tray loaded with fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon.

My soft round face was flushed with exertion and lingering embarrassment.

Oversized gray sweatpants and a baggy faded t-shirt completely swallowed my curves.

Hiding my heavy body beneath layers of shapeless fabric was a clear sign of my deeply rooted insecurities.

Dan warned me to be careful, rising gracefully from his heavy leather chair.

He crossed the room to meet me halfway and took the heavy silver tray from my trembling hands.

His warm fingers brushed deliberately against mine.

Electric heat shot rapidly up my arm, making me gasp softly in surprise.

I blushed furiously, ducking my head to stare intently at the floor.

Setting the heavy tray down, the terrifying mafia boss smoothly corrected me before I could even finish my polite thanks.

My formal ‘Mr. Russo’ was firmly dismissed, replaced by his gentle insistence that I call him Dan.

Looking down at my plush slippers, my trembling fingers nervously found the worn hem of my baggy cotton shirt.

Slipping on a puddle of spilled milk, I argued weakly, wasn’t exactly a highly tactical or heroic combat move.

Stepping significantly closer, Dan gently tipped my soft chin up with a calloused, unexpectedly warm index finger.

Those highly trained, heavily armed guards outside hadn’t managed to stop the assassin from entering his home.

Only my spectacular clumsiness had neutralized the lethal threat.

Leaning down, he pleaded with me in a low, intense whisper to stop diminishing my own brilliant light.

Tears prickled my large brown eyes.

Men like Dan Russo simply did not look at women like me with such raw, unmasked admiration.

Society had spent my entire thirty years telling me I took up entirely too much space.

Yet his intense, predatory gaze made me feel exactly right.

Later that afternoon, the sweltering Chicago heat became absolutely unbearable.

I decided to take advantage of the estate’s private indoor pool.

I slipped into a modest black one-piece swimsuit, wrapping a large towel tightly around my heavy hips.

I crept down the quiet corridors, praying fervently that no one would see my thighs jiggling.

Slipping silently into the cool water, I finally let out a long sigh of absolute relief.

The water supported my generous weight, making me feel beautifully weightless and free.

Unbeknownst to me, Dan stood silently in the shadowed doorway.

He watched the water lap gently against my full breasts and smooth, thick thighs.

His breath caught painfully in his throat as he realized how repulsive Heather’s sharp angles were compared to my lush softness.

Removing his tailored suit jacket, Dan walked slowly to the edge of the pool.

Hearing his steady approach, I gasped loudly and furiously treaded water to hide my submerged body.

I stammered in panic, my round face turning a vibrant shade of crimson.

Dan crouched down gracefully at the edge of the tiled pool, meeting my panicked gaze.

He told me I looked incredibly beautiful in the water and begged me to stop trying to hide myself.

I whispered sadly that I was too big and didn’t belong in a place surrounded by endless perfection.

Dan reached out and firmly gripped my wet, slippery shoulder.

He declared that perfection was a lonely illusion and that my body was a sanctuary exactly as it was.

I finally felt safe in his intense gaze, but as I looked into Dan’s dark, possessive eyes, I couldn’t help but wonder if his ruthless world would eventually come to destroy the fragile peace we had built?
