My Coworker Attacked Me Over A Simple Question — The Security Footage Revealed The Terrifying Truth
Part 2
Tyler froze, his hand hovering over the keyboard.
The heavy metal door rattled again, louder this time.
Only three people had keycard access to this basement room.
Me, Tyler, and Brenda from HR.
“Don’t say a word,” I whispered, stepping quickly back into the deep shadows of the server racks.
Tyler quickly switched the monitor back to the main security grid just as the heavy lock clicked open.
The door swung wide, revealing Brenda standing in the hallway.
She held a clipboard pressed tight against her chest, her eyes darting around the dimly lit room.
“Tyler, I need you to run a diagnostic on the second-floor network,” she said, her voice sharp and commanding.
She hadn’t noticed me yet.
Tyler cleared his throat loudly, trying to shift his chair to block her view of the console.
“Sure thing, Brenda, I’ll get right on it.”
She took a step inside, her gaze narrowing as she noticed the blinking blue light of my flash drive.
“What are you downloading?” she asked, walking slowly toward his desk.
My heart hammered in my chest, completely drowning out the hum of the servers.
If she saw the file name, she would immediately confiscate the drive and delete the original footage to protect Brian.
“Just a system update patch,” Tyler lied, his voice cracking slightly.
The progress bar on the hidden screen hit one hundred percent.
A soft chime echoed in the quiet room.
Before Brenda could lean over his shoulder, Tyler casually pulled the flash drive out and slipped it into his palm.
“All done,” he said with a forced, trembling smile.
Brenda stared at him for a long, incredibly uncomfortable moment.
She finally sighed, tapping her expensive pen against her clipboard.
“Just get the network fixed,” she snapped, turning around and walking back out.
The door clicked shut behind her, sealing us back in the quiet hum of the machines.
Tyler let out a massive breath, slumping forward in his chair.
He tossed the small plastic drive across the desk to me.
“You owe me a lot more than a car repair for this, Greg.”
“I know,” I said, slipping the drive deep into my pocket, the plastic warm against my leg.
“Thank you.”
I left the server room and went straight to the nearest restroom to finally clean my face properly.
The cut was deep, requiring a thick butterfly bandage to stop the bleeding.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror, watching the water turn pink in the sink.
The quiet, compliant guy they expected me to be was gone.
I walked back to my desk, sitting down heavily and plugging the flash drive into my computer.
I drafted a new email, my fingers flying across the keys.
I didn’t address it to Brenda or my immediate supervisor.
I addressed it to Richard, the CEO, the entire board of directors, and every single employee in the regional office.
The subject line was simple: ‘Unprovoked Assault by Brian – Security Footage Attached.’
I dragged the video file into the attachment box, watching it load.
I hovered my mouse over the send button.
Sending this would nuke my entire career here, but it would completely destroy Brian’s too.
I took a deep breath and clicked send.
Now, the only question was how long it would take for the explosion to reach my desk?
