My Dad Told Me To Disappear — Then I Caught His “Brother” Stealing My Sister’s College Fund

Part 2

Sarah transformed her dining table into a complete war room by the time the sun came up the next morning.

Her glowing laptop sat right in the middle, surrounded by my scribbled notepad, old photo albums, and two mugs of incredibly strong coffee.

She slid the screen toward me and showed me a long list of business registrations under Craig’s name.

There were seven completely dissolved LLCs flagged for highly suspicious financial activity.

Each fake business had been mysteriously shut down within two short years.

Then we started digging into the endless trail of lawsuits.

Some had been dismissed, while others ended in very quiet settlements.

One specific civil suit stood out violently from the rest.

A devastated family in Ohio had accused him of stealing their daughter’s entire college fund for a surefire startup.

I remembered Brenda mentioning that my dad thought it was best to take down my photos because of the tension.

But what if that wasn’t the real reason at all?

What if Craig had specifically asked for it just to erase my existence from the picture?

He needed to make the family look perfectly whole and pliable without my interference.

I pulled up Heather’s Instagram and saw a new story featuring college brochures spread across her messy desk.

The caption proudly read that big changes were coming ahead.

It looked exactly like he was selling her a massive dream while secretly planning to sell her future for pure cash.

Sarah and I immediately split up the investigative work.

She scoured local property records while I called a trusted friend who worked at a nearby bank branch.

By noon, we had uncovered several terrifying pieces of the puzzle.

Craig had rented a small, barely furnished office downtown with nothing but a desk and a fake plant.

He had also opened a brand new account under the name Family Futures LLC just two weeks ago.

The biggest break came from an unexpected text from Mrs. Higgins.

She sent me a blurry photo she had secretly taken from her kitchen window the night I had left.

It clearly showed Craig, my dad, and Heather sitting around our dining table.

Craig had a thick stack of legal papers in front of him.

Heather was visibly holding a pen over the dotted line.

He was trying to get her to sign something incredibly important.

That was when I knew this was absolutely about Heather’s college savings.

The massive fund was sitting in a joint account with my dad.

If she signed anything giving Craig permission to manage those funds, the money would vanish before she even applied to schools.

I looked desperately at Sarah and told her we needed solid proof before tomorrow night’s dinner.

We drove straight downtown and parked directly across the street from his fake office building.

Through the dusty window blinds, we could easily see him pacing while talking on his phone.

At one point, he opened a desk drawer and pulled out a very thick manila folder.

Even from the car, I instantly recognized the bright color of the dividers.

My dad used that exact same kind for all of our vital household documents.

We snapped several clear photos and recorded a long video of his suspicious behavior.

But as the sun finally set over his fake office, I had to ask myself—would Dad even believe me when I showed him the truth?
