My Daughter-In-Law Threw Away A Baby Blanket — Then I Found The Device Hidden Inside
Part 2
I stared at those horrifying words on the illuminated screen until my vision completely blurred.
I didn’t sleep a single wink that night.
I sat alone on the edge of my bed, the old phone gripped tightly in my trembling hands, reading those vile messages over and over again.
Every single word was a sharp stab directly to my chest.
Dan hadn’t died in a tragic, unfortunate accident.
The woman who swore to love him until death had coldly orchestrated his murder as if she were simply planning a weekend getaway.
By the time the sun began to rise, I made a firm decision.
I couldn’t just stay silent and let Heather continue walking around the world freely.
I certainly couldn’t let her keep raising Megan with those blood-stained hands.
I desperately needed help, someone I could fully trust, someone who wouldn’t think I was completely losing my mind.
I immediately called Carol, my lifelong neighbor and closest confidant since my husband passed away.
She answered on the third ring, her voice thick with sleep, but within fifteen minutes she was knocking on my front door.
I pulled her into my bedroom and showed her the blanket, the phone, the photos, and those horrifying messages.
Carol’s face quickly shifted from initial confusion to absolute horror, tears welling in her eyes as she finally looked up at me.
We both knew we couldn’t just march into a police station with a phone I found in the trash.
We needed much more solid proof, especially about the man Heather was messaging.
We opened my laptop and started digging through Heather’s Facebook friends list, filtering for any names starting with a “C”.
After clicking through several profiles, we finally found him: a man named Craig.
There he was, staring back at us with the same dark eyes and the exact same smile from the hidden photos.
Carol nervously suggested we go over to Heather’s house right then to look for more evidence while she was distracted.
It was an incredibly risky plan, but it was the only real option we had.
I texted Heather, begging her to let me drop by just for a few minutes to give Megan a new toy.
She reluctantly agreed, giving me a strict thirty-minute window.
When we arrived, Carol stayed back in the car while I knocked on the front door, my heart pounding violently against my ribs.
Heather let me in, offering a cold smile, and went upstairs to fetch Megan.
As soon as she was out of sight, I texted Carol to come to the front door.
Carol rang the bell, pretending she desperately needed to use the restroom, and Heather begrudgingly let her inside.
While I forced myself to make small talk with the woman who murdered my son, Carol quietly slipped into Heather’s bedroom.
Ten excruciating minutes later, Carol reappeared, signaling me with a tense nod that it was time to leave.
We practically ran back to the car in total silence.
Once the doors were locked, Carol pulled a manila envelope from her large purse.
Inside were life insurance documents showing Heather had quietly collected half a million dollars just three months after Dan died.
But underneath those papers was something even more shocking.
It was a copy of Megan’s original birth certificate.
The mother’s name listed wasn’t Heather.
It explicitly listed a young woman named Teresa.
We knew Heather was a murderer, but how could she have faked an entire pregnancy without my son knowing?
