My Ex-Husband Seated Me By The Kitchen To Shame Me — But My New Royal Husband Shut Down His Wedding

Part 2

Flanked by our four security guards, Arthur and I bypassed the panicked wedding planner entirely.

The general manager of the Plaza himself practically bowed as he rushed out to hold the heavy gilded doors open for us.

He stammered about not being informed of a royal arrival, but Arthur simply stated we were here for the reception, his voice carrying the effortless authority of a man who owned the room before he even entered it.

We stepped into the grand foyer just as the DJ inside announced the grand entrance of the bride and groom.

Inside the ballroom, the five hundred curated guests of New York’s elite sat in polite silence.

Heather and Brian were standing just behind the secondary set of doors, vibrating with smug satisfaction as they prepared for their majestic walk down the center aisle.

The room erupted into synchronized applause as they stepped into the spotlight, Heather waving with her diamond tiara sparkling.

But their triumphant parade was abruptly derailed.

The heavy gilded doors at the back of the ballroom were aggressively thrust apart.

The sound of heavy wood slamming against doorstops echoed like a gunshot, slicing through the orchestral music and killing the applause instantly.

Five hundred heads turned simultaneously toward the back of the room.

Heather froze, her smile hardening into a grotesque mask of confusion.

Our four security guards strode in, moving in a tight, impenetrable diamond formation.

They flanked the entrance, their cold, clinical precision instantly taking control of the main access point.

Antoine, the high-strung wedding planner, tried to hiss that this was a private event.

One of our guards leveled a stare so devoid of warmth that Antoine instantly backed away with his hands raised in silent surrender.

Then, I stepped through the newly secured threshold.

The collective intake of breath from the guests sounded like a vacuum sealing the room.

I paused just inside the doorway, allowing the ambient light to catch the magnificent sapphire resting against my collarbone.

I didn’t look at the floor.

My chin was lifted, my posture impeccable, radiating an aura of absolute power.

Beside me, holding my arm with possessive grace, Arthur looked completely unbothered by the hundreds of staring eyes.

Near the front of the room, Carol let out a strangled gasp, dropping her crystal champagne flute.

The sharp crack of breaking glass was the only sound in the completely silent ballroom.

Brian stared at me, his brain refusing to reconcile the image of the woman he discarded with the untouchable queen standing before him.

He had expected a clearance-rack dress and a broken demeanor.

Instead, I looked like I could buy his new wife and this entire hotel with pocket change.

Heather’s face contorted with unadulterated rage as she hissed at Brian, demanding to know what I was doing there.

Before Brian could formulate a response, Arthur leaned down and whispered something to me.

A small, devastatingly confident smile touched my lips.

We began to walk straight down the center aisle, forcing the guests to lean back and give us a wide berth.

The entire wedding had ground to a halt, but Arthur wasn’t finished, and as he locked eyes with my terrified ex-husband, I knew exactly what he was about to do to Brian’s fragile empire.
