My Husband Cheated With A Billionaire's Wife — So I Took Everything They Had

Part 1

I met Brian five years ago, back when he had nothing but charm and empty promises.

Working three jobs, I put him through his master’s degree.

I thought we were building a solid future together.

Little did I know, he was building a future with someone else’s bank account.

Megan was the wife of Craig, a man who owned half the real estate in the city.

She was bored, wildly wealthy, and looking for a plaything.

Brian fit her requirements perfectly.

For months, I thought my husband was working late at the firm.

In reality, he was spending his evenings in high-end hotel suites.

They thought they were so clever, leaving no paper trail and paying for everything in cash.

But they entirely underestimated Craig.

Craig didn’t just suspect his wife was stepping out.

He hired the best private investigators in the state to document every single betrayal.

And instead of just serving Megan with papers, he came directly to me.

I remember the evening Craig knocked on my front door.

He handed me a manila folder thick with photographs and financial records.

I flipped through the glossy images, my stomach twisting into a painful knot.

My husband wasn’t just cheating on me.

He was actively conspiring with Megan to empty our joint savings into an offshore account.

I didn’t scream or throw plates at the wall.

Instead, I just looked up at Craig, matching the icy calm in his dark eyes.

We formulated a plan right there in my living room.

Fast forward to the final confrontation in Craig’s private office.

I slid the divorce papers across the thick glass table.

Brian stared at the ink, the color completely draining from his face.

Beside him sat Megan, her expensive smirk finally faltering.

“Sign this,” I kept my voice perfectly level.

“After tonight, you and I will have nothing to do with each other.”

Brian lunged forward, his hands trembling as he reached for my arm.

“Forgive me,” he stammered, sweat beading on his forehead.

“It’s not my fault, I swear it’s her fault.”

He jabbed an accusing finger toward Megan.

Megan shot up from her leather chair, her heels clicking sharply against the hardwood floor.

“You think I don’t know you only wanted me for my money?”

She glared at Brian with pure, unfiltered disgust.

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

Brian ignored her, dropping to his knees right in front of me.

“Please, we’ve been through so much,” he pleaded.

“Are you really just going to throw it all away?”

Craig stepped forward from the shadows of the room.

“Keep your hands off her,” his voice echoed with absolute authority.

Brian flinched hard, shrinking back against the edge of the desk.

“I loved you once,” I looked down at the man I used to call my husband.

“Then I hated you.”

“But right now, I feel absolutely nothing for you.”

Brian scrambled to his feet, a nasty sneer twisting his features.

He looked from me to Craig, his eyes narrowing with sudden realization.

“You set us up,” he spat the words out like venom.

“You set me up first,” I replied without missing a single beat.

“You really thought I wouldn’t return the favor?”

Megan grabbed her designer purse, her knuckles bone-white.

“This isn’t over,” she hissed before storming out of the office.

Brian hesitated for a fraction of a second before chasing after her like a lost dog.

The heavy oak doors clicked shut, leaving Craig and me alone in the quiet room.

I let out a long breath, the adrenaline slowly leaving my system.

But the victory tasted strangely bitter in my mouth.

I turned to face Craig, pulling my coat tight around my shoulders.

“You had the security footage from the hotel for weeks,” I crossed my arms over my chest.

“You just sat back and watched, waiting for the perfect moment.”

“You didn’t care about protecting me at all.”

“You just wanted to control the entire situation.”

Craig didn’t deny it, his expression completely unreadable.

“I wasn’t hiding anything,” he adjusted his silver cufflinks.

“That’s just how I do things.”

“And that is exactly why I cannot trust you,” I grabbed my purse.

I knew what Craig wanted from me, but I refused to be another piece on his chessboard.

Walking out of the building, I was determined to start my life fresh.

For three days, I ignored calls from unknown numbers.

Without a second thought, I packed up Brian’s remaining belongings and left them in garbage bags on the porch.

I thought I had finally cut the toxic ties from my life forever.

Then my phone buzzed with a text message that made my heart stop beating.

It was a picture from Brian.

Resting in his palm was a tarnished gold band.

It was my father’s wedding ring, the one he wore until the day he died.

Brian had claimed he lost it months ago during our last move.

The text below the image was brief and chilling.

“I forgot to return this.

Come to the old pool house on 4th Street if you want it back.”

I knew it was a desperate trap.

Craig had frozen all of Megan’s assets and blacklisted Brian from every firm in town.

They had nothing left to lose, and they blamed me for their total ruin.

But that ring was the absolute only piece of my father I had left in the world.

I grabbed my car keys, my hands shaking violently against the steering wheel.

Calling the police or Craig wasn’t even a thought that crossed my mind.

The drive straight toward the abandoned property was a blur, completely unaware of the nightmare waiting for me in the dark.

Pushing open the rusted iron gates, I stepped directly into the shadows.

That was the worst mistake of my entire life.
