My Parents Excluded Me From Their Luxury Vacation—They Didn’t Know I Own The Resort

Part 2

The flight to the coastal resort felt remarkably short, my mind buzzing with cold, calculated anticipation.

By the time my plane touched down on the sun-baked tarmac, I felt absolutely no lingering anger toward them.

I stepped through the private staff entrance of Sapphire Cove, immediately greeted by respectful nods from my employees.

The genuine warmth of my staff contrasted sharply with the icy dismissal I always received from my own blood.

The operations director met me in my expansive office with her digital tablet clutched tightly to her chest.

She informed me that my family’s flight had landed and they were currently en route to the property.

I sat behind my massive mahogany desk, crossing my legs with complete, unshakable composure as I reviewed the plan.

I reiterated my strict order to keep them assigned to the cramped standard room instead of the luxurious penthouse.

The director smiled knowingly, appreciating the poetic justice, and left me alone to watch the lobby security cameras.

Thirty minutes later, the grand revolving glass doors spun open to reveal my completely oblivious family.

Brenda stepped into the lobby first, adjusting her oversized designer sunglasses and immediately judging the modern decor.

Craig followed closely behind her, dragging their massive suitcases across the marble like he owned the entire building.

Heather trailed them with her phone raised high, actively filming a vacation vlog for her tiny audience of followers.

I watched her mouth form the words complaining about the natural lighting in my award-winning, five-star lobby.

Craig marched straight up to the mahogany reception desk and loudly announced their highly anticipated arrival.

He demanded the keys to the ocean-view penthouse suite with the staggering entitlement of a reigning king.

The receptionist maintained her flawless, highly trained professional smile while typing deliberately on her keyboard.

She politely informed them that due to a sudden ownership directive, the penthouse was currently unavailable for their stay.

She calmly explained they had been placed in a complimentary standard suite while management sorted out the complicated details.

Brenda gasped audibly, clutching her expensive leather purse to her chest like she had just been physically struck.

She slammed her palm onto the mahogany counter, asking if they looked like the kind of people who stayed in basic, standard rooms.

Heather rolled her eyes dramatically, insisting there must be some massive mistake because her father earned a comfortable six figures.

They stood in the middle of my breathtaking lobby, acting completely unimpressed and behaving entirely embarrassingly in public.

I stepped out of the secluded security office and walked slowly down the echoing marble hallway toward the commotion.

Through the frosted glass partition, I heard Heather swear that if I were there, I would somehow humiliate them.

I pushed open the heavy side door and let my designer heels click rhythmically against the pristine stone floor.

Brenda noticed me first, her heavily made-up face twisting into a mask of pure, unfiltered confusion and dread.

She stepped forward and demanded to know what on earth I was doing working at a prestigious place like this.

Heather laughed a cruel, delighted sound, stepping closer with a smirk as she asked if I was there to scrub floors and clean their toilets.

Craig sighed heavily, pointed a stiff finger toward the exit, and told me to go back home before I embarrassed myself further.

He casually stated that I simply didn’t belong around wealthy people of their obvious social and financial caliber.

I raised a single finger, signaling the attentive receptionist to finally reveal the absolute truth of the situation.

She cleared her throat softly and announced to the lobby that I was the sole, primary owner of the resort.

Absolute, ringing silence descended upon my family as the color drained completely from all three of their faces.

Should I let them stay in the standard room, or kick them out completely?
