My Teacher Humiliated A Student For Her

Part 1

The heavy silence in Mrs. Peterson’s classroom was shattered by the harsh ring of the wall phone.

No one dared to breathe when she picked up the receiver.

She was the kind of teacher who thrived on absolute control.

Her eyes scanned the rows of desks as she listened to the voice on the other end.

A slow, terrifying smirk crawled across her face.

She slammed the phone down into its cradle.

Her gaze locked onto the back row like a heat-seeking missile.

“Brenda, would you care to share your search history with the rest of the class?”

Brenda’s hands shot out.

She slammed her laptop shut with a loud crack.

The sudden movement made everyone turn their heads.

Mrs. Peterson was already marching down the aisle.

The rhythmic clicking of her heels sounded like a countdown.

“The IT department just flagged your device on the school network.”

Mrs. Peterson stopped directly in front of Brenda’s desk.

“They said you’ve been looking at highly inappropriate content during my lesson.”

Brenda shrank back into her plastic chair.

“It’s not what you think.”

Her voice was trembling so hard it cracked.

“Then show me,” Mrs. Peterson demanded.

She held out an expectant hand.

“Please, I can’t,” Brenda whispered.

Her fingers dug into the plastic casing of her laptop.

Mrs. Peterson didn’t ask again.

She lunged forward and snatched the computer right off the desk.

“If you have nothing to hide, this should be incredibly easy.”

Brenda tried to stand up to stop her.

Mrs. Peterson shoved her back down by the shoulder.

She marched back to the front of the room.

She slammed the laptop down onto her podium.

A thick VGA cable dangled from the ceiling projector.

She grabbed it and jammed it into the side of the laptop.

“Let’s see what is so important that it demands your attention in my classroom.”

The massive projector screen hummed to life on the whiteboard.

Every single eye in the room darted up to look.

The whole class could see exactly what Brenda was doing.

There were six browser tabs open.

None of them contained the dirty images everyone was expecting.

The first tab was for a Budget Inn.

The listing showed forty-five dollars a night with hourly rates available.

The second tab was a Motel Six.

It boldly advertised weekly rates and no credit checks.

The third was a search engine query for cheap motels near me that take cash only.

The fourth asked how to rent a room if you are seventeen.

The fifth asked if you can check into a motel without a valid ID.

The final tab was a map showing local women’s shelters.

A sharp bark of laughter echoed from the back of the room.

“Damn, Brenda is looking for a grimy place to hook up.”

Someone else chimed in right away.

“Isn’t she dating Tyler from the football team?”

The whispers ignited like dry brush.

“She’s totally cheating on him.”

A girl a few rows over scoffed loudly.

“That is absolutely disgusting.”

I turned around to look at Brenda.

She was entirely frozen in her seat.

Tears were streaming rapidly down her pale cheeks.

She wasn’t making a sound.

Her hands were balled into tight fists on her lap.

I had been watching her closely for weeks now.

I noticed the heavy long-sleeved sweaters she wore every single day in May.

I noticed how she flinched if anyone walked by her desk too fast.

I saw her drop out of gym class entirely last month.

Just last week I caught a glimpse of a dark, ugly bruise on her wrist.

She told me she got it playing volleyball.

I knew for a fact she hadn’t been to volleyball practice since winter.

Tyler was the golden boy of the school.

He was untouchable.

Everyone loved him.

I always got a sick feeling in my stomach whenever he looked at me.

Mrs. Peterson crossed her arms over her chest.

She stood proudly beneath the glowing projection of the motel tabs.

She clearly thought she had caught a delinquent red-handed.

“Care to explain why you are searching for sleazy motels during my English class?”

Brenda shook her head frantically.

“I can’t.”

Mrs. Peterson took a threatening step forward.

“You certainly can, and you will.”

The entire class leaned in to hear the juicy details.

No one cared that she was crying.

They only wanted the scandal.

Mrs. Peterson tapped her finger against the whiteboard.

“Are you planning to meet someone after school?”

Brenda clamped her eyes shut.

“A boy, perhaps?” Mrs. Peterson prodded cruelly.

“Is that why you are so desperate for an hourly room?”
