Salesman Insults Elderly Woman at Jewelry Store Not Knowing She’s the Owner…

The Encounter at Elegant Jewels

The air in the jewelry store was thick with the scent of polished metal and the faint hum of classical music playing in the background. Behind the counter, a young salesman named Rohan adjusted his tie, his eyes scanning the room for potential customers.

He had been working at Elegant Jewels for only three months, but he already felt like he owned the place. His confidence was unshakable, his charm undeniable, and his sales record impeccable.

But today, his arrogance was about to meet its match. The door chimed softly as an elderly woman shuffled in.

Her gray hair was tied back in a loose bun and her worn coat hung slightly off her shoulders. She carried a faded handbag that had clearly seen better days.

Rohan glanced at her, his lips curling into a faint smirk. “Another window shopper,” he thought.

He had no time for people who couldn’t afford the store’s luxury items. Still, he plastered on a polite smile and approached her.

“Good afternoon ma’am, can I help you find something?” he asked, his tone dripping with faux sincerity. The woman looked up at him, her eyes warm but tired.

“Yes dear, I’m looking for a gift, something special.” Rohan nodded, already mentally dismissing her.

“Of course, our collection is exquisite, but I should warn you our pieces are quite expensive.” “Perhaps you’d like to browse our more affordable section,” he gestured toward a small display of lower priced items near the back of the store.

The woman’s smile faltered for a moment, but she didn’t respond. Instead, she walked over to the main display case, her eyes lingering on a stunning diamond necklace.

“This one is beautiful,” she murmured, her voice soft but steady. Rohan stifled a laugh.

“That piece is one of our most expensive; it’s not for everyone, I’m afraid.” The woman turned to him, her gaze piercing.

“And who decides who it’s for?” Rohan blinked, caught off guard by her tone.

“Well ma’am, I just mean that it’s a significant investment.” “Perhaps something simpler would suit you better.”
