She Becomes Emergency Wedding Photographer, Not Knowing The Groom’s Brother Would Fall In Love

An Urgent Call and a Chance Encounter

The phone call came at the worst possible time when Sophia Turner was elbow-deep in developer solution, frantically trying to salvage a roll of film that had nearly been ruined in a dark room mishap. Her cell vibrated across the counter, threatening to fall into the chemical bath below.

“Hello,” she answered, pressing the phone awkwardly to her ear with her shoulder.

“Is this Sophia Turner photography?”

The woman’s voice was high-pitched with panic.

“Yes, this is Sophia.”

She carefully lifted the film from the solution.

“Oh, thank God! Our wedding photographer just called to cancel—food poisoning or something—and we’re getting married tomorrow. Please tell me you’re available.”

Sophia blinked, momentarily forgetting about the film dripping chemicals onto her jeans.

“Tomorrow? As in Saturday?”

“Yes, I know it’s insane to ask. I’m Jessica, by the way. We’re paying double the going rate, and I swear we’re not difficult people. We’re just desperate.”

Sophia’s mind raced through her schedule. She had planned to spend Saturday editing photos from last week’s corporate event, but nothing that couldn’t be pushed. And double rates? Her rent was due next week, and the transmission in her car was making that ominous clicking sound again.

“What time and where?” she found herself asking.

“The ceremony starts at 3:00 p.m. at Willowbrook Gardens. I can email all the details right now if you’re in.”

“I’m in,” Sophia said, making a mental note to check her equipment tonight. “Send me everything, and I’ll be there.”

After hanging up, Sophia returned to her film, thinking about how this unexpected booking might be exactly what she needed to jumpstart her struggling photography business. Little did she know, it would change far more than just her financial situation.

The next day, Sophia arrived at Willowbrook Gardens two hours early, her camera bag slung over one shoulder and her lighting equipment balanced in both arms. The venue was stunning, an old estate with manicured gardens and a renovated barn that served as the reception hall.

Sunlight filtered through massive oak trees, creating natural spotlights on the emerald lawn. As she unloaded her equipment, a deep voice came from behind her.

“Need a hand with that?”

Sophia turned to find herself looking up at a tall man with dark hair and striking blue eyes. He wore a charcoal suit that fit his broad shoulders perfectly, the jacket unbuttoned to reveal a vest underneath.

“I’ve got it, but thanks,” she replied automatically before reconsidering. “Actually, if you could grab that last bag, that would be great.”

He smiled, and something in Sophia’s stomach flipped.

“I’m Mason, by the way. Mason Xavier, the groom’s brother.”

“Sophia Turner, the last-minute replacement photographer.”

“Ah, so you’re the miracle worker Jessica’s been talking about.”

He picked up her remaining bag with ease.

“I heard our original photographer got taken out by some bad sushi. Their loss, my gain.”

Sophia said with a small smile, “Which way to the bridal suite?”

“I’ll show you.”

Mason gestured toward the main house.
