She Photographs His Sister’s Engagement, Unaware The Millionaire Brother Will Want Her

At the entrance, he walked her to the door, maintaining a respectful distance.

“Thank you for today,” Khloe said, suddenly awkward.

“The photos will be a wonderful addition to my portfolio.”

“I have a confession,” William said, his expression turning serious.

“I didn’t invite you out today just for photography.”

Khloe’s heart beat faster.

“No?”

William took a deep breath.

“I wanted to get to know you better. There’s something about you, Khloe, something genuine. It’s rare in my world.”

Before she could respond, he handed her a business card.

“I’m flying back to London tomorrow, but I’d like to see you again. Perhaps you could send me some of those landscape photos when they’re ready.”

Khloe took the card, their fingers brushing momentarily.

“I’d like that.”

William smiled, and with a gentle goodnight, he left her standing at the hotel entrance, wondering what had just happened.

Over the next week, as Khloe edited the engagement photos, she found herself repeatedly drawn to the images of William. His eyes, his smile, and the way he looked at his sister with such affection were all captured in her photographs.

After delivering the complete set to Mia, who was thrilled with the results, Khloe spent an extra day editing the landscape photos from her outing with William. She debated for hours before finally emailing him a selection of the best images.

She included the one of him against the sunset. His response came within the hour.

“These are exceptional. The one with the human element particularly captures something unexpected. I’m in New York for meetings next week. Any chance you might be free for dinner? William.”

Khloe stared at the email. New York was a three-hour drive from her Philadelphia apartment. Was she really considering traveling that far for dinner with a man she barely knew?

Yes, she realized she was.

Their dinner in New York turned into a weekend exploring the city, with William showing Khloe hidden architectural gems she’d never noticed despite numerous visits. They talked for hours about everything and nothing: their childhoods, their passions, and their disappointments.

“You’re nothing like I expected,” Khloe admitted as they walked through Central Park on Sunday afternoon.

“What did you expect?” William asked, his hand occasionally brushing against hers.

“Someone more… I don’t know, corporate. Stern. Less willing to spend an entire day wandering around with no particular destination.”

William laughed.

“I think that’s how most people see me—the serious businessman who never takes time off.”

“And who are you really?” Khloe asked, stopping to look up at him.

William’s eyes softened.

“I’m still figuring that out, but I know I like who I am when I’m with you.”

He reached for her hand, intertwining their fingers. The simple gesture felt more intimate than any kiss could have been.

When they parted at the train station that evening, William kissed her for the first time. It was a gentle, questioning kiss that left Khloe wanting more.

“I’ll be in Philadelphia next month for a conference,” he said, his forehead resting against hers.

“Will you be there?”

“I live there,” Khloe reminded him with a smile.

“So, yes, I’ll definitely be around.”

Over the next few weeks, they spoke daily. Phone calls stretched late into the night, and text messages made Khloe smile at unexpected moments.

When Mia called to ask if Khloe would be available to photograph her wedding in six months, Khloe hesitated, unsure if her growing relationship with William would complicate things.

“Actually,” Mia said with a knowing tone, “William specifically suggested I confirm with you now. Something about making sure you’d be there regardless.”

Khloe felt warmth spreading through her chest.

“In that case, I’d be honored.”

When William arrived in Philadelphia for his conference, he extended his stay by three days. Khloe showed him her small photography studio and the local farmers market where she bought fresh flowers every Sunday.

She showed him the park bench where she decided to become a professional photographer after years of working uninspiring office jobs.

On their last evening together, over dinner at Khloe’s favorite neighborhood restaurant, William seemed unusually quiet.

“Is everything okay?” Khloe asked, reaching across the table to touch his hand.

William’s fingers curled around hers.

“I’ve been offered a chance to expand the company with a new headquarters in New York.”

“That’s wonderful,” Khloe said, though her heart sank at the thought of him being based in London long-term.

“It would mean relocating from London,” William continued, watching her carefully.

“Permanently.”

Khloe’s breath caught. New York was much closer than London—just over an hour by plane or three hours by car. William squeezed her hand.

“Weekend trips would be easy.”

“Very easy,” Khloe agreed, her smile widening.

“The thing is,” William said, his expression turning serious, “I’m not sure I want to spend weekends away from you at all.”

Khloe’s heart hammered in her chest.

“What are you saying, William?”

“I’m saying that in the three months since Mia’s engagement party, you’ve become the most important person in my life.”

William took a deep breath.

“I know it’s fast, and maybe I’m being presumptuous, but I was wondering if you’d consider… if Philadelphia has a market for a photography studio in a larger space. Perhaps one with living quarters above it?”

Khloe stared at him, processing his words.

“Are you asking me to move in with you?”

“I’m asking if you’d consider a future where we’re in the same city,” William clarified.

“Where that city is and what our living arrangements would be is something we can figure out together. I just know I want to be where you are.”

Tears pricked at Khloe’s eyes.

“I think there’s definitely a market for a larger studio,” she said with a watery smile.

“And I’ve always wanted more space for client consultations.”

William’s face broke into a relieved grin.

“Is that a yes to discussing our future?”

“It’s a yes to having a future,” Khloe replied.

“The details are negotiable.”
