“What’s that?” Daniel asked.

“The workshop is three blocks from Lily’s new school,” Olivia said with a smile. “So you could drop her off and pick her up every day.”

Daniel pulled her into another embrace, his heart full.

“Have I told you lately that I love you?”

“Yes,” Olivia laughed. “But I’ll never get tired of hearing it.”

Five years later, Daniel stood in the doorway of their home. He watched as Olivia helped Lily with a science project while their 2-year-old son, Ethan, played at their feet.

Olivia reached up to pull him down for a kiss.

“You’re kissing again!” Lily groaned dramatically.

Ethan giggled, clapping his small hands.
