My Tinder Date Gave Me A “Bare Minimum” List Before We Met — So I Gave Her A Reality Check
Part 2
She stared at the folded piece of paper, her perfectly manicured fingernails drumming slowly against the polished mahogany table.
I slid my very own pen across the white tablecloth until it rested right beside the document.
“Since you clearly treat relationships like a strict business merger, I think we should keep things completely professional,” I said.
“I’ve gone ahead and added a second blank column to your PDF list.”
I tapped the paper twice, keeping my gaze locked firmly on hers.
“I want you to go down the line and write exactly how you meet each of these eighteen extreme standards yourself.”
Her jaw tightened so hard I genuinely thought her teeth might crack under the intense pressure.
She slowly uncrossed her arms and picked up the paper as if it were contaminated with a highly deadly virus.
She read the first few items aloud, her voice trembling with rapidly rising indignation.
“You want me to prove that I’m financially successful and earn three hundred thousand dollars?” she asked, her voice raising a full octave.
“You actually expect me to prove that I am a top-tier chef and a professional maid?”
I simply nodded, leaning back and resting my hands comfortably on my lap.
“If those are the bare minimum requirements for a husband, they should logically be the bare minimum for a wife,” I stated simply.
“Equality is a core pillar of any modern partnership, wouldn’t you agree?”
She slammed her hand down on the table, causing her expensive wine glass to rattle dangerously.
“That is not how the real world works,” she spat, her previous facade of cool indifference completely melting away.
“Men provide, and women nurture and elevate their social status,” she declared, casually inspecting the smooth edge of her polished thumb.
“Except you just told me you don’t cook, you don’t clean, and you don’t intend to nurture a child without a full household staff,” I pointed out.
The silence stretched between us, thick and deeply suffocating, while diners at the adjacent tables kept stealing curious glances.
“This is incredibly insulting,” she finally hissed, tossing the heavy pen back onto the table.
“A high-value woman doesn’t have to prove her intrinsic worth to a man on a piece of printer paper.”
I picked up the leather checkbook, sliding my credit card inside to cover exactly half of the exorbitant bill.
“A high-value person, regardless of gender, brings much more to a relationship than just showing up and making demands,” I replied calmly.
I stood up from the booth, adjusting my jacket while she watched me in absolute, stunned silence.
“You’re looking for a wealthy sponsor, Heather, not a husband or an equal partner.”
I left enough cash on the table to generously tip the waiter who had endured her endless complaints all evening.
I turned and walked out of the restaurant, leaving her sitting completely alone with her precious list and her hundred-and-fifty-dollar steak.
By the time I reached my parked car, she had already unmatched me on the dating app and completely blocked my number.
I drove home feeling a massive wave of relief, thoroughly grateful that she had shown her true colors before I wasted any real time on her.
I poured myself a glass of water in my quiet kitchen, looking down at the screenshot Tyler had told me to ignore.
Have any of you ever encountered someone who demands the entire world but offers absolutely nothing in return?
