Poor Single Dad Missed Interview to Help a Woman – She Turned Out to Be the CEO Who Changed His Life
A Life-Changing Call
The next morning, as he was pouring the last of the milk into Lily’s cereal, his phone rang from an unfamiliar number. “Mr. Carter?” a professional female voice asked.
“Yes, this is Evelyn Price. I believe we met yesterday under the hood of my car.” Daniel blinked.
“Oh yes, hi. I’m glad you made it to your meeting.” “I did,” she replied with a hint of amusement.
“And I also made a few calls afterward.” “You see, I couldn’t stop thinking about what you did.”
“Most people would have walked past. You didn’t.” “You helped a stranger knowing it might cost you something.”
Daniel rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. “It’s just what you do.”
“Not everyone,” she said. “I’d like you to come to my office today.”

“If you’re interested, I can offer you a starting salary, full benefits, and flexible hours so you can be there for your daughter.”
For a moment, Daniel just stared at the papers, his throat tightening. He thought about the nights spent worrying over bills and the days skipping lunch so Lily could have a proper dinner.
Hope had started to feel like a luxury. When he finally spoke, his voice cracked. “Yes, absolutely yes.”
Evelyn smiled. “Then welcome to Price and Company, Mr. Carter.”
“And for what it’s worth, I think yesterday was the best interview I’ve ever seen.” Daniel walked out of that office into the crisp afternoon air.
For the first time in years, the weight on his shoulders felt lighter. He pulled out his phone and called Lily.
“Guess what, sweetheart?” he said, his voice trembling with joy. “Daddy got the”
